Secret in amber - beaumont, texas, usa - 2026
The Mural created for the Beaumont Mural Festival sits in a quiet, slightly off moment, as if something just happened, but we don’t fully know what. The scene feels warm and familiar, yet there’s a small tension running through it.
The figure isn’t really present with us. Her attention drifts somewhere else, and the objects around her feel just a bit out of place, like they’ve been moved or left behind. It creates a sense of imbalance without anything being obviously wrong.
I was exploring composition and contrast here, playing with weight and negative space, realism and more graphic elements. The goal was to create a feeling: something calm on the surface, with a subtle unease underneath.
